Bringing your kid for a haircut: how to make it easy.
First cut, or just a kid who hates sitting still? A few small things make the chair a lot easier on everyone.

Kids' haircuts go one of two ways, and most of the difference happens before you even get to the chair. Here's how to set your kid up for an easy one.
Before you come
Book a time when they're fed and rested, not right before a nap. Talk it up like it's a normal thing, not a big deal. Bring a tablet, a snack, or a favorite toy if that's what keeps them calm. There's no prize for toughing it out.
In the chair
I keep it low pressure and move at their pace. If they need a break, we take one. I've cut for kids who cried the whole first time and high-fived me by the third. Ages three to twelve, and I've seen all of it.
